Inception (2010) - Thriller/Action/Science Fiction



Inception was a massive success at the box office, largely due to its cast, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and the acclaimed director, Christopher Nolan. However, the marketing campaign also had a significant role to play in the film's success. Warner Bros. spent a whopping $100 million on its marketing campaign for the film. Warner Bros. marketed their film through trailers, posters and viral marketing. Viral marketing for the film included a game called "Mind Crime" on the official website, where players will need to find their way through a maze, eventually getting to a safe that opens, finding an exclusive hidden trailer inside.

 


Another way in which the film was marketed was through large posters. Large posters on buildings would be visible to people passing by, so it would almost be impossible not to notice it.
The poster featured the title, director, the date of the films release and Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays the lead in Inception.
